Steinbeis 2i GmbH/Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum: Your Partner for Innovation in Europe
Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum (SEZ) was founded in March 1990 as the operational unit of the Commissioner for Europe of Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Economics. SEZ's core business activity is facilitating the acquisition of European research funding for Baden-Württemberg's Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). In October 2016, SEZ passed over certain services and competences to its 100% subsidiary Steinbeis 2i GmbH (S2i). As a member of the Steinbeis network, SEZ and Steinbeis 2i GmbH form a bridge to Europe for companies and industry, research organisations, universities, administrations and policy-makers in the region. For example, S2i is partner in the well-known European Commission's Enterprise Europe Network.
We support companies, universities and research organisations in submitting proposals and implementing cross-border projects, identifying and selecting appropriate funding and innovation programmes as well as taking steps to internationalise and enter international markets. We advise regional policy-makers, administrations and ministries on future developments, on innovation and cluster policy issues and help them form and utilise a broad range of networks in Europe and beyond. In addition, we facilitate networking through the professional organisation of European conferences, events, dissemination and communication activities.
Concretely, S2i manages and supports international research projects, assists organisations in European projects at any stage, gives assistance in the exploitation of research results, promotes trans-national technology transfer, and stimulates and supports strategy and innovation processes in public and private organisations, networks and clusters. SEZ and S2i have vast experience in organising, facilitating and conducting innovation, strategy and forward-looking participatory processes, roadmapping workshops, dissemination activities, conferences and brokerage events for technology transfer. SEZ and S2i have been involved in a large number of European projects in the past years in a variety of high-tech and emerging disciplines.
